For the 3rd year Since the terrorist attacked in Finsbury Park, we celebrated our diversity as Londoners when more than two thousand people from all faiths and communities joined the Muslim community at the Street Iftar outside our Mosque, fantastic atmosphere and excellent speeches by prominent guests including our local MP Jeremy Corbyn, Dominic Grieve MP, Richard Watts (Leader of Islington Council), Ruzina Akhtar (Daughter of Makram Ali who passed away at the terrorist incident), Mayoress for Islington Council, Cllr Rakhia Ismail, Elizabeth Chappell the chair of Islington Faith Forums, Commander Mark McEwan (Chief Officer for Crime Prevention, Inclusion and Engagement at the Metropolitan Police, Rabbi Herschel Gluck (President of Shomrim, Stamford Hill), Reverend Stephen Coles (Vicar of St Thomas’s Church), Toufik Kacimi (CEO – Muslim Welfare House) & Zac Hussain (Director of Community Fundraising – Muslim Aid), this initiative is now a national one where we have seen it happened in Birmingham, Manchester and few parts of London.
