We hosted the Mindsavers Workshop in collaboration with the British Islamic Medical Association (BIMA) and Islington Council — and what a beautiful, uplifting gathering it was!
Delivered by dedicated healthcare professionals, the session explored the theme “5 Pillars for Better Mental Health: A Practical Framework for Muslims.” Attendees were guided through faith-based principles and practical tools to help them:
• Understand mental health from an Islamic perspective
• Support their own wellbeing
• Recognise and support others in need
It was wonderful to see so many members of our community — young and old — come together with open hearts and minds to learn, reflect, and share experiences. The discussions reminded us that mental health is a journey, and caring for it is a form of worship.
Our speakers highlighted how faith, gratitude, community, and self-care work hand-in-hand to nurture both our spiritual and emotional wellbeing. Participants also shared personal reflections, and many spoke about how the workshop helped them see mental health in a new, compassionate light.
We’re deeply grateful to:
• Our speakers and facilitators for sharing their expertise and compassion
• Our volunteers and organisers for their tireless effort behind the scenes
• Everyone who attended and contributed to creating such a safe, supportive atmosphere
Each attendee received a Certificate of Attendance, marking their commitment to personal growth and community wellbeing.
Let’s continue these conversations — at home, in our Mosques, and within our circles — so we can keep supporting one another in faith, health, and hope.
